Account safety

Your account holds your business connections, verified partnerships, and all the data you've built on LinkToast. Login is passwordless and secured with short-lived email codes, but there are a few things worth knowing to keep your account safe.

Why account security matters

If someone gets into your LinkToast account, they can see your verified connections, contact info, and even make changes to your business profile. That's why we take security seriously, and you should too. Spending a few minutes understanding how we protect you can save you trouble later.

How LinkToast protects you

We use passwordless sign-in with one-time codes sent to your verified email. No passwords to remember or store, which means fewer ways for your account to be compromised. Each code expires quickly, so even if someone intercepts it, they can't use it later.

All connections to LinkToast are encrypted using TLS, so your data travels securely between your device and our servers. We also end sessions when you sign out, so your account stays protected even if you forget to log out on a shared device.

Recognizing official LinkToast emails

All official emails from LinkToast come from addresses ending in @linktoast.com. If you get a login code or account notification, check the sender's domain before clicking anything.

Important: We will never ask you to send us your login code. If someone claiming to be from LinkToast asks for your one-time code, that's a scam. Real support requests never require you to share authentication codes.

If you receive a login code you didn't request, ignore it. Codes expire quickly, and if you didn't start the login, there's nothing to worry about.

What you can do to stay safe

Here are a few steps that help:

• Secure your email inbox. Since login codes come via email, make sure the email account connected to your LinkToast account has a strong, unique password. Consider enabling two-factor authentication on your email provider too.

• Don't forward login codes. Never share your one-time codes with anyone, even if they claim to be from LinkToast support. We'll never ask for them.

• Check the domain. Before entering a code, make sure you're on linktoast.com and the URL looks right. Phishing sites sometimes use similar-looking domains.

• Sign out on shared devices. If you log in from a library computer, friend's laptop, or any device you don't own, remember to sign out when you're done.

• Review your account activity. If you notice anything unusual like login attempts you didn't make or changes to your profile you didn't authorize, reach out to us right away.

If you think your account is compromised

If you suspect unusual activity or think someone else has accessed your account, here's what to do:

1. Sign out immediately from all devices using your account settings.
2. Change your email password if you think your email account might be compromised.
3. Contact our support team at support@linktoast.com or use our report form. We can temporarily protect your account and review recent activity.
4. Review your account settings once you regain access to make sure nothing was changed without your knowledge.
